A few days ago I wrote a blog entry called Why Do You Want To Write A Book?. There I listed some of the reasons ghostwriting clients of mine have for getting a book written.
Melissa Donovan, who blogs at Writing Forward took me seriously and created her own list of reasons in an entry called: I Want to Write a Book, and Here’s Why.
It’s a good, inspiring list. Check it out.

When most of us think about writing a book, we tend to think about telling the whole world something. The dream of a mass-market best seller is a persistent one. But, selling a ton of books isn’t the only valid reason for writing a book. Consider:
A family memoir aimed at passing on what you’ve experienced and learned. Your family and generations to come want this information.
A way to build credibility with clients. Your clients want to know more about you.
A novel that’s simply a darn good story. People love stories.
The secret you’ve discovered about living life. …read more

2. Professional copy edit – someone to make sure nothing has slipped through. Truly worth the effort.
3. Cover design – your book’s cover is it’s billboard… hard to understate it’s importance. You …read more

One of the things I believe is if you’ve got a yen to get a book written it’s because you have something to say that the world needs to hear. Well, maybe not the whole world, but if you keep thinking and feeling you need to get a book written, there is an audience out there that wants and needs your message.
The problem with writing books is that they seem huge! The chances are that when you think about it, you go into a sort of overwhelm. Your mind is stuffed with ideas that threaten to spill out all over …read more

Last week I muttered about the lack of good ebook readers. Mary Emma Allen, who blogs at HomeBizNotes commented she thought younger folks would move into ebook readers easily.
Today, I’ve discovered that in Japan, not only are people reading books on their cellphones, they are actually writing whole novels on them. The post is Books Read (and Written) on Cell Phones which links to an article at the Wall Street Journal called Ring! Ring! Ring! In Japan, Novelists Find a New Medium.
Good grief I’m behind. I don’t even own a cell phone – I can’t imagine writing a book, …read more
