According to the Financial Times, the UK now vies with the US for most developed financial market, with New York narrowly retaining its lead over London as a financial market.
It’s the UK’s second bite at the apple, having been the most important financial center through much of the 1800s.

The US isn’t the only place where copyright holders are getting aggressive against file sharing. According to this article, British web hosting companies may be forced to reveal the information for more than 7,000 users of file sharing software, if not more.
In the US, there has been a great deal of litigation involving both individuals who share files and online services like Napster, much of which has favored the copyright holders.
Charge It in a ChargeBox

There is a new vending machine making its way into hotel lobbies: the ChargeBox. Sitting next to the ATM and the candy machine, it looks like a storage facility for your valuables. Insert a coin (in the UK where I first saw the device, 2 pounds) and you can connect your cell phone or iPod for up to 40 minutes of charging.

No Euros in the UK

I have gotten so used to the common European currency (Euro) that I often forget that the UK still uses the Pound. Okay, I don’t really forget that, but I do forget to pack my miscellaneous Pounds when I get ready to go to the airport. I usually don’t need any cash at all when on business trips, so that contributes to the low ranking of GB Pounds on my mental packing priority list.
