Studies have shown that more and more retirees and laid off older workers are buying small franchises. For baby boomers who have an entrepreneurial streak, this seems like a good option. The U.S. has more than 850,000 franchised businesses.

Do you think that marketing your electronic products and high-tech toys to the over-50 crowd is a waste of time? Think again. A recent study by Horowitz Associates for “Retirement Living” magazine shows that the 50+ population is well on its way when it comes to having digital TV services in the home.
