What is a Penny Stock?
In the U.S. financial markets, a penny stock is any stock that trades outside if one of the major exchanges (NYSE, NASDAQ, or AMEX). According to the SEC definition, they are low-priced, speculative securities of a very small company. Penny stocks also go by the names microcap stock, small caps, and nano caps.

Freddie and Fannie dabble in penny stock territory

This morning’s first half hour of trading was a wild ride.
I watched shares of Freddie Mac dip to $0.88 and rise to $1.63 within a 10 -15 minute window. It is easy to say I should have bought and quickly sold at the above prices. But, as the saying goes…shoulda, woulda, coulda.
Hindsight is 20/20. I predicted a tumultuous market for these two but, no one could have predicted this range.
You have to have a tough stomach (or cash to play with) to participate in this kind of madness!
