Tech and Woo Woo Weirdness This Morning

I spent most of Saturday and Sunday in a silent retreat. Lots of meditating, and almost no talking. And I mean almost no talking at all.
Absolutely delightful to find I can get along for a day or two without words. Of course there was a torrent of words in my head most of the time, but there were moments when even there language slowed for a bit.

I’m A Morning Writer – Are You?

I don’t remember when getting up early in the morning started to work for me. It certainly wasn’t when I was a teenager! As a new mother, I remember being sure I wouldn’t get a chance to sleep in until the twins were in their 20s. Maybe it was years and years later, when I started to sail and discovered how much I liked the early morning watches, waiting for, then discovering that true first light.

Keeping It Simple

Someone asked me the other day if I didn’t feel like the world was speeding up even more. I was surprised when I realized that I haven’t been having that “I’m going to fast and so’s the world” feeling as often as I used to, and I wondered why. I think the reasons are probably:
Freelancing in a home office means no commute. For me this means I can usually travel when there’s less traffic which means way less stress. I can also shop when there are fewer folks shopping, and go to the gym…
