What’s the future of gold currencies?

In the light of recent developments in the digital gold market, with companies like e gold being indicted and the  US government taking a hardline against some of them because of moneylaundering and unregulated illegal practices going unchecked, what do you think the future of these alternative currencies or digital currencies are ?

Can the US govt and others force them out of business as some believe?

We value your opinion here on www.digitalmoneyworld.com and both Mark and Benson have written here on digital gold extensively in the past.

Last week I asked you to design the online payment system called edream you wanted as Here on www.digitalmoneyworld we regularly hear readers complaining about the services ( or lack of them) offered by e payments companies like moneybookers, paypal, e gold, loom, and the rest. In response, Sean over at franchise pick; a blog I never tire of reading, responded with a killah post not to be missed, with his usual wit and humour.

http://www.franchisepick.com/franchisepickcom-announces-esean-payment-processing-system/

So here’s the question, if you were to design the e payments system that you want and need, what would it look like?

What services would it offer that you are missing now?

Lets call it e dream

The prize? a deposit of seed money into your a paypal account in your name to start your new business. Yes you heard right! seed money into your own account.

Now rumour has it that Sean is pretty confident of winning this are you going to let him? So send yours in today guys, your best ideas for a payment system.

The prize will be awarded at the end of July. get yours in!

Mixing Real Estate with Digital Money

July 1, 2008 by Benson

(Digital Money World) I’ve always thought how nice it would be to just click on a house at eBay and buying it straight without going through the hassle of all the tough procedures to procure a piece of real estate; Whilst I haven’t heard of any Realtors doing it nor know that this is possible (Since all countries have different policies when it comes to foreign buyers or even local buyers of the country), maybe a fact is that someone can come up with such a platform to expediate the process of viewing a house and procuring a house with step by step details and make the initial payments with Digital Money/ Digital Gold Currencies.

Maybe the process of viewing the house in virtual world could be improved so a home buyer can have a good feel of how is it like in the house. A good example would be this virtual tour of a penthouse unit in Singapore that I’ve done up with a photographer with a Javascript/ Java/ Flash technology. Maybe more videos, photos can be added in together with a floorplan.

Of course we understand that as long as we don’t get to see it physically, we can’t always confirm or affirm anything. These aids are there to assist your buying decision, rather than making a wasted trip down to look (especially for overseas buying). From here and out, we could confirm the buying process by paying the deposit through Digital Money/ DGC which would make the process relatively faster than Bankwire (I’m not sure of this, but as long as the amount gets into my e-Gold account, I would feel really safe since e-Gold payments are irreversible. Not so sure about Paypal). From here, the Realtor can carry out the procuring process and have the Solicitor ready to proceed with the rest of the conveyancing.

Getting a piece of real estate with digital money hasn’t been that common as yet, but the future of having this option seem really bright in the near future to come.

Has Any One Bought A House or A Car With Digital Money?

(Digital Money World) I know it’s relatively unheard, but has anyone has ever encounter people doing such transactions before? The nearest that ever came close to reality was the Money Booker’s scam that Moneypenny’s readers have been conned for ‘buying a car’

How much do you trust your Digital Money provider or a internet payment solution to procure something that’s of a huge value to you?

Or if you haven’t, would anyone please share what’s the biggest or the most expensive items that you have ever paid for using payment solutions like Paypal, Alertpay or even Digital Gold Currency like e-Gold, e-Bullion?

Hmmn, I’m REALLY curious.

2. service level, charges/cost and market share.

3. security, support and reliability.

4. ethical, regulated and financially sound company.

The Key Issue to Legalisation of Digital Money

January 16, 2008 by Benson

EMOCorp gets closed down, EvoCash is gone, E-gold gets into hot soup with the US Government. So what is the exact issue? Why can’t any digital form of currency actually work with every legislation in each country on a universal scale?

Anti Money Laundering (AML) policy issues is the main reason why the government legislations for most countries doesn’t really encourage people to use it on the big scale; and in fact, I haven’t exactly seen any country using a particular e-currency/ digital money. You may argue that Paypal seems to be dominating on this field, since almost ALL people around the world knows about Paypal and uses it for their internet business.

Not very true, Paypal does discriminate Indonesian users because of the high level of credit card fraud rates. Even E-gold picks up problems with Iranian accounts. So there’s no exactly one form of digital money that could be used by every country and not letting the authorities worry about the activities behind the accounts.

And even if one of the company manages to come out with a champion legal form of internet money, it’s going to be heavily monitored by all the big legal criminal authorities; No privacy then!

Can someone come out with Dream Internet Money? *Ponders
