Lee Iacocca, regarded as one of the best CEOs of all-time due to his work with Chrysler in the 1980s, says that General Motors should try to pay back the United States federal government as soon as possible.
Why?
“They’re on you day and night,” said Iacocca to the Associated Press. “Their oversight is just too extreme. That’s why our 10-year loan, we paid it back in three years. We couldn’t stand the government. The bureaucracy kills you.”
Many businesses that have received federal bailout have used that same logic. In the financial industry, where companies received billions of dollars in bailout funds, …read more

While it may make sense for these corporations to keep quiet during bankruptcy proceedings, the opposite is actually the reality. After filing for bankruptcy, companies need to actively and powerfully launch marketing campaigns.
The main reason that marketing is so important to these companies is to downplay the bankruptcy and make it seem like everything will be just fine. To the average consumer, “bankruptcy” is a very scary word and could lead to confusion and distrust …read more

The attorneys for Chrysler said the committee wasn’t necessary because benefits would continue under the new company. And though that’s not guaranteed, Gonazles agreed that the committee wasn’t necessary as the decision about the benefits would be made by the Fiat …read more
