Toyota Recalls 3.8 Million Vehicles

Even what appear to be the smallest problems can turn out to have huge impacts: just ask Toyota, who has initiated a recall of about 3.8 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles because of a problem with the driver’s side floor mat. The recall will be the largest safety-related recall for Toyota and the sixth-largest auto recall ever in the United States.

Honda Recalls 440,000 More Cars

A dangerous flaw in several hundred thousand Honda vehicles’ airbag inflation mechanisms has forced the Japanese automaker to issue a recall for the affected vehicles, which it widened today to include another 440,000 cars. The 2001-2002 Honda Accord, the 2001 Civic, and the 2002-2003 Acura TL have all been mentioned in the recall report.
 
According to Honda, 6 people have already been injured and 1 person has died due to the error. Fixing the faulty airbag mechanism will involve replacing the airbag inflator for the airbag mounted on the steering wheel. The error causes the airbag inflator to increase pressure on …read more

Feb Car Sales at a 27-Year Low

February was definitely not a good month for the automobile industry in America.
It may not surprise anyone that cars aren’t selling well right now, but most Americans may not realize just how bad the situation really is.he official numbers will be announced later today, but analysts predict that February 2009 sales were at a 27-year low, according to Reuters.

California association blames housing woes on mortgage crisis

During the residential real estate boom times, home prices in California soared sky-high. Homeowners sat back and watched their homes double, even triple in value seemingly overnight.
 
Those days are over.
 
In another sign that the housing industry’s woes aren’t a quick blip, the California Association of Realtors last week announced that sales this September in the state dipped 38.9 percent from the same month last year. Sales dropped 14.9 percent from August of this year to September alone.
