In the world of marketing, being ahead of the curve and finding the next big thing can be worth millions upon millions of dollars. That is especially true when it comes to search engines.
Currently, Google remains the king of search. However, there are some interesting challengers lurking in the background. Bing.com has had some very positive reviews. Additionally, there are other search engines — such as Nexplore — that could become heavy hitters in the future.

Did you know that Bing has now created a new website that incorporates Bing search results along with Twitter feed associated with the same keyword? The name of this new website is BingTweets.com and it is an interesting concept.
Not only is Bing trying to capture the market share for search engines but now they are combining their efforts to incorporate Twitter results. I did a search for my name on BingTweets.com and below where the results for the timeframe when the search occured.

Is Bing Catching On? Good News for Bing

While there hasn’t been a massive shift in the search habits of Americans, the latest comScore numbers indicate that Bing may be slowly catching on. The numbers suggest that Bing is taking searchers away from both Google and Yahoo.
According to the comScore stats, the Google search engine saw a 3.53% drop in search traffic from June to July, while the Yahoo search engine saw a drop of 4.83%. Bing, on the other hand, saw their searches grow from June to July by 5.39%.

While Yahoo Inc. CEO Carol Bartz recently flirted with the idea of a partnership, stating that a potential partner would need lots of money and compatible technology, Bartz has revealed that she and her company are under no pressure to partner with Microsoft. Although Bartz confirmed that there had been talks, she denies that such a partnership is at all necessary.

Unless you’ve been under a rock with no Wi-Fi, you’ve heard about Bing, Microsoft’s latest venture into the multi-billion dollar search engine industry. I’ve done a few test searches and I’m actually somewhat impressed by the presentation of the search results.
