Google and Yahoo both dominate their respective niches of online advertisement: while Google is the undisputed leader in search advertising, Yahoo has had a significant lead as far as display ads go, which are banners and other colorful ads. However, Google, has unveiled its proposed counterpart to Yahoo’s display ad dominance, the Doubleclick Ad Exchange.

Adobe Pays $1.8 Billion for Omniture

Software company Adobe Systems, which is best known for programs like Adobe Acrobat, Reader, and Photoshop, has decided to purchase online analytics firm Omniture for $1.8 billion. According to Adobe itself, the move is part of a growing attempt on the part of Adobe to make itself more competitive in the world of online commerce.
Adobe will pay Omniture $21.50 per share in cash, which turns about to be an offer 24 percent above Omniture’s Tuesday closing price of $17.32. The deal is expected to close by Adobe’s fiscal fourth quarter, at which point Adobe will begin to combine the services …read more
Yahoo and Newspapers Partner Up

In an unlikely but apparently practical partnership, Yahoo and several newspapers around the country have joined forces in the battle of advertisement. The partnership, called the Yahoo! Newspaper Consortium, was launched in 2006 and it now involves 814 newspapers, or about half of the newspapers published in the United States.
This partnership means that every newspaper involved in the consortium has access to Yahoo’s repository of expensive and directly-targeted ads that they can sell alongside their own. In return, each newspaper agrees to give Yahoo half of the revenue it takes in from any ads they sell through this service.

I was pursuing the real estate listings on my local CraigsList and came across this:
Unit is upstairs and offers word burning fireplace, laundry, parking and tons of character.
I’m not sure what sort of character wants to burn words in a fireplace, but it’s probably not for me.
