Last night Vice Presidential hopefuls, Joe Biden and Sarah Palin took the stage for their one debate of the election.

Palin is popular, but with whom?

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released today reveals that Governor Sarah Palin has an impressive approval rating…
with men.
62% of the men polled have a “favorable opinion” of Palin, compared to 53% of women. 57% of male respondents viewed Palin as “qualified” while only 43% of female respondents answered that way. As a whole, 50% of those polled said that Palin was qualified for the job of Vice President; 70% of those polled said that Senator Joe Biden was qualified.
But the surveyees’ confidence in Biden’s ability to do the job did not translate to overall support. According to …read more

Why did McCain pick Palin?

In the wake of multiple “items of interest” emerging since the announcement of Governor Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate, some information regarding Senator McCain’s vetting process has been revealed. According to an article from the New York Times, the McCain campaign had spent months interviewing and investigating the other “finalists” such as Minnesota Governor, Tim Pawlenty, but that a serious review of Governor Palin did not begin until “four or five days” before she was chosen. Reportedly, McCain staff members did not get “on the ground” in Alaska until last Thursday (one day before Senator McCain made his …read more

What do you think about the Palin Pick?

Did you see John McCain introduce Sarah Palin as his running mate on Friday?  McCain made the announcement in Dayton, Ohio – as the pair sets off on the campaign trail on their way to Minneapolis; they’ll be making stops in Pennsylvania and Michigan. Both McCain and Palin talked of her record of and dedication to reform. Did you see the speeches?  What did you think? Personally, I thought she did a good job – for her first foray into the national spotlight.  She focused on her “good points” there will be plenty of time to dissect the not so good. But some other …read more

Upon finishing an interview with a Fox News correspondent, former presidential candidate, the Reverend Jesse Jackson (Sr.) was heard (via a still “hot” microphone) saying less than complimentary remarks about Senator Barack Obama’s recent interactions with the African American community.
After learning that the comments had been heard, Reverend Jackson contacted the Obama Campaign to apologize, and on Wednesday, made a formal apology on CNN’s Situation Room. Coincidentally, Fox News was, reportedly, poised to air the recording later on Wednesday.
Rev. Jackson explained that he is in full support …read more

Continuing his focus on the nation’s economy, Barack Obama, on Wednesday, met with executives from some of the countries largest companies. The closed meeting, held in Chicago, was attended by representatives from firms such as J.P. Morgan, Ford, and Boeing.
There was no official agenda released by Obama’s campaign, but attendee, Alan Mulally , from Ford, reported that they discussed domestic manufacturing and the government’s role.
Today (Thursday), at Carnegie Mellon University (in Pittsburgh), Obama has scheduled a “summit” to discuss the American economy and US competitiveness in the global market.

While Clinton assesses her debts, Obama brings in the big bucks.

Image details: Hillary Clinton Continues Presidential Campaign served by picapp.com
Political pundits continue to weigh in on Hillary Clinton’s campaign debt. As we know, Clinton loaned her campaign over $11 million – thanks to the McCain/Feingold campaign finance rules she has until the Democratic Convention (August) to re-pay herself – after the convention she can recoup only $250,000 (of the remaining loan).
As for her debt to her vendors, currently around $9.5, she has a few more options. She can continue to raise money (she, reportedly, has raised $1M since Obama clinched the nomination) to pay off the …read more
