Welcome to the 12 days of management.

This series will start on the 12th. of December and end on the 25th. of December.

You guessed it: I have used the structure of the 12 Days of Christmas to look at what we in middle management can receive and give (Thanks to Rosa Say for making giving and receiving the December theme for Joyful Jubilant Learning).

Each post will have 2 days of management:

  • The odd number days focus on what I receive from my manager
  • The even days focus on what my employee give to me.

The last two days will be posted on Christmas day.

Of course my name is Zinger not singer so you are fortunate that you don’t have to hear me sing this song.

Here is the first of 6 parts of the 12 Days of Management.

Day 1: On the first day of management my manager gave to me a partridge in a pear tree. No she didn’t but I hope the person I report to has a sense of humor and playfulness. I don’t want her or him to be a bird brain but I do want to feel we work as a pair.

Day 2: On the second day of management my employees gave to me: two different perspectives. They offered support for what we were trying to accomplish and challenged me when they saw problems or difficulties.
