Books and more books

I just wrote a book review on The Omnivore’s Dilemma over at Joyful Jubilant Learning. There are a TON of good reviews to read over there. This Shelfari page shows all the books that are getting reviewed, and this page is where you can keep track of the reviews.

There are a lot of business books being reviewed, but there’s a whole lot more. The review I did, for instance, is on a book about food (excellent book, btw). If you’re looking for something to read, definitely browse those reviews.

As an aside, while I was reading The Omnivore’s Dilemma, I had to travel to Las Vegas. As I was sitting on a bench at the pickup area, waiting for my ride, a gaggle of older ladies came around. They wondered what I was reading, so I showed them the cover of the book. One lady stared at it for a moment as her lips silently tried to form the words she was reading. She finally blurted out, “Oh…hmmm. Well, is that another language?” I kept my composure long enough to offer some gracious answer about the book. I chuckled for days afterward, though. :-)

I can’t wait to read Omnivore’s Dilemma. It’s on my list of books to read. Thanks for reminding me.
