Best management ideas results

I totally neglected to point this out last week. Lisa’s ‘Best Management Ideas’ contest, for which I was a judge, ended and she’s posted the winning entries (actually, she posted all the entries, including the winners). Rob May scored the grand prize haul.
I’ll be honest, while the winners were all in my top ten, I ranked some of the other ideas higher than those that took away prizes. I interpreted ‘Best Management Ideas’ to be along the lines of best ideas for managing others, and less about the management of personal workflow, or the management of group tasks, etc. Accordingly, my highest weighted selections from the 19 ideas I was asked to rank, were those that involved actual face time with employees. The idea I ranked highest was the one that had to do with the “daily 5 minutes” that Rosa Say talks about. I ranked this highest because it takes very little time, but affects enormous results. The others all had a similar approach, and I ranked them by the amount of time spent with employees (more time=higher rank).
After the four “face time” ideas, I started ranking the others, and I think I came up with the same results that Lisa mentions–the decision idea first, then the wiki idea.
