I’m very excited to share the 10 nominees for the 2008 Best Leadership Blog contest with you. The contest is again hosted by Kevin Eikenberry, and this year I was part of the panel this year that narrowed down the field to 10 best. One randomly drawn voter will be given a three month membership in the Remarkable Leadership Learning System
Here are the 10 (in no particular order):
- Management Craft: Lisa Haneberg
- Leading Blog: Michael McKinney
- All Things Workplace: Steve Roesler
- Leadership Made Simple: Ed Oakley
- Lead Quietly: Don Frederiksen
- Extreme Leadership: Steve Farber
- Slow Leadership: Carmine Coyote, Peter Vajda, John Fletcher
- Tom Peters: Tom Peters
- Leadership Challenge: Various Authors
- Personal Leadership Insight: Rhett Laubach
Take some time to check out all 10 sites, and then go vote for your favorite. Voting is open through July 31, and the winner will be announced on Kevin Eikenberry’s blog on August 4th.
What are your favorite leadership blogs not on this list? Please share them in the comments.

Phil,
Well, this is a treat; thanks for the nice press for all of us.
Here are two of my daily reads:
Wally Bock at Three Star Leadership. Wally knows the nuts and bolts of managerial performance and how to develop it. And, he knows how to explain it clearly.
Jim Stroup at Managing Leadership delves deeply into complex issues and sorts them out from the perspective of one who has done it and is now consulting with organizations.
BTW: I think people should wait until 2009 to cast any votes for the guys at Slow Leadership. It would be inconsistent with the theme to act too quickly:-)
Thanks for highlighting the competition Phil!
And Steve, both of your suggestions are GREAT. As a matter of fact, they both were included in the nominees for our panel of experts.
Vote, vote, vote!
I think a really good site left off of your list is one written by an actual senior executive herself. Nina Simosko’s blog, http://www.ninasimosko.com, is a well-written, down to earth site that offers advice to those aspiring to climb the corporate ladder from someone who actually did and now wants to help others do so too. I hope to see her blog, which offers me great insights, on your “best of” list next time around.
Of course, whenever you publish a list of “The Best” of anything there are differing opinions lobbying for those not included.
A great blog that could be too new to be included on this list, but should be considered for next year, is http://www.AskTheManager.com.
You might like to take a look at the Leader Values blog. It always provides an intro to capture your interest (or not) and then a link to the original article. OK, si its not purely original but I’ve found some really interesting blogs and people from this site.
