Cuppy’s Coffee Franchise Owners Still Not Paid; New Franchises Opening

(FranchisePick.Com) Cuppy’s Coffee franchise owners and Java Jo’z licensees who have been fighting to get their “refundable” deposits of $35,900+ continue to report that despite new owner’s assurances, they have still not been repaid. Many report no change, and that they are still being given the runaround by Cuppy’s Coffee and representative Danny Jones of Cuppy’s affiliate Elite Manufacturing. The few who have had their calls returned continue to report that they are being forced to consider only partial repayments of their deposits.
Despite widespread problems and recent layoffs by new owner Dale Nabors and FranSynergy, Cuppy’s Coffee continues to generate franchise leads via its website. Also in the news: New Cuppy’s Coffee franchise locations and new Java Jo’z license locations continue to open around the country.

Java Jo’z blog post recently announced that a Java Jo’z would be opening soon in Arlington, TX. A Cuppy’s Coffee location previously opened and closed in Arlington, TX in less than three months. (”Six Flags will not be the only reason to visit Arlington TX, a Java Jo’z licensee has completed and signed a lease to open a coffee cafe in the area. Look for the new Java Jo’z to open soon.”)

Does anyone know how to claim the money I gave Java Joz as a loss on my taxes? I gave them the monye and they gave me nothing. We never opened a store.

Did you pay the money personally, as a sole proprietor, S Corp. or LLC? That will matter.
