I’ve finally been convinced that I need to try out Xobni. I was really really excited about it first, especially when I wasn’t granted early private beta access. (Ya always want whatcha can’t have)
Finally, the opened up their private beta, and are allowing users to download the program and try it out. After hearing so much about it, I was eager to try it out.
I gotta say however, even though the search feature is lightening fast and I really like the “all files shared” feature, I’m underwhelmed with the rest of it. Maybe I need to use it more to see it’s true power, but overall, I’m not just not impressed so far.
Is anyone else using Xobni? What are your thoughts?

I’ve only taken a superficial look at Xobni (I don’t actually have a copy of Outlook at the moment), but it looks fairly nifty. But what worries me is that all of those nice tools don’t neccessarily seem to have an obvious benefit.
Sure, you might be able to tell what time of day some people send more emails at, but that will rarely affect what time you actually email that person — or even call, if you really need something. Like you said, extensive use may show a hidden power, but it’s definitely not enough to inspire me to install Outlook.
