Brandcurve’s Best: The search is on!

Here at Brandcurve we want to start up something new. Announcing…
Brandcurve’s Best and Get on the Curve.
We want to profile the best of the marketing/branding bloggers on the web; giving them the opportunity to be exposed to a new audience and giving you a guide to the best sources of branding goodness on the web.
To achieve this, we’ll be regularly profiling blogs we find, and we want YOUR help to find them. As a special program, Get on the Curve will feature student and young professional bloggers.
Profiled bloggers may also be asked to feature in Brandcurve’s Best, where we identify current issues in marketing/branding and get our panel of bloggers to comment.
So put in your recommendations for blogs to feature now!
We don’t just want to hear about the most popular - we know who Seth Godin is, and so should you. What we need is for you to tell us about new blogs which aren’t getting the recognition they deserve, and in particular finding the students and young professionals who make up the future of the marketing industry.
To make a recommendation of a blog - yours or someone elses - leave a comment here or give me an email!
The b5media Business Channel Bloggers Ask - Does Experience Matter?

The b5media Business Channel bloggers were asked to answer the question - does experience matter? Check out some of their responses in the links below:
Here at Brandcurve, I share a montage of Mac Guy vs. PC Guy commercials demonstrating relationship and experiential branding at work.
At Slacker Manager, Phil and David tackle the question head on: Experience or Attitude: Who would you rather hire? Similarly, at Leadership Turn, Miki notes that most managers look first for direct experience when interviewing, but is that a good thing?
At One Vote Matters, Thursday jumps into the fray and asks whether Palin’s lack of foreign policy experience matters in the presidential race. At Interview Chatter, Darlene reminds us that the question comes down to what is most important when filling a position - even if that position is the most powerful in the country. Read more

Last week, the b5media business channel bloggers each submitted a post about networking for a big wrap-up post chock full of networking tips, ideas, suggestions and more. Check out the posts below to see what everyone was talking about!
Here at Brandcurve, I wrote about SocialVibe.com - a social networking site with a charitable twist.
Jennifer has more to say about the power of networking here - but then, her whole blog is about networking.
If virtual networking is more your style, try popping over to Buzz Networker to find out what’s at the top of the social media heap these days.
At Leadership Turn, Miki says that in the category of “if you learn nothing else…,” there are three networking basics that guarantee results of solid gold. Find out what they are. Read more
Business and the Summer Slump from the b5media Business Channel

The business world is in a slump - from world markets to real estate to stock exchanges. We’ve tackled this issue at the Business Channel this month. It’s all about the Summer Slump.
Here at Brandcurve, I asked whether the answer to the summer branding slump is the 2008 Olympics.
At taxgirl, Kelly Phillips Erb thinks about slumps as they relate to careers - should you stay or should you go? She gets asked all of the time why she became a tax attorney - and whether others should follow in her path. Her answer might surprise you.
Not everything is slumping - on Property Crossroads, Dan reminds us that rental rates are on their way up. At Doing Biz Abroad, Jean wonders whether rising oil prices are slowing down business travelers this summer. Jennifer chimes in on Daily Blender that food prices are still climbing all over the world hitting not only the pockets of consumers, but the restaurant industry. Read more

If you’ve been by the Wordpress.org home page recently, you may have noticed in the lower righthand corner is a list of sites powered by Wordpress that now includes b5media. The image rotates between a variety of company logos. This is great brand promotion for b5media. Brandcurve is a member of the b5media blogging network, so I was pleased to see b5media represented on the Wordpress.org home page!

Crisis Management from the b5media Business Channel

The b5media Business Channel had crisis management on the brain last week after a 2-day technical outage affected the availability of every blog in the b5media network. The outage inspired many b5media business bloggers to write posts about crisis management. I think Brandcurve readers might find one or more of these posts interesting and useful, so I thought I’d post the list.
