In celebration of the Presidential Inauguration, Pepsi launched a major web 2.0 event that empowers Americans to speak to President Barack Obama directly through Pepsi’s video banner ad.
R/GA, partnering with Eyeblaster has successfully launched an extremely innovative banner ad, mixing breakthrough technology and creativity with social media, politics and pop culture.
You can click on the banner ad and get started recording a video message with your webcam to President Obama. The Pepsi banner video message ad will run through Wednesday, January 21 on Yahoo Music, YouTube and Google’s Content Network.
The Pepsi in-banner video ad is part of a larger digital campaign created and designed by R/GA. To check out Pepsi’s “Dear Mr. President” marketing approach (or to upload your own video), go to RefreshEverything.com.
Eva Longoria is one of the many celebrities who has her message to the President as part of Refresh Everything. Watch Eva’s video below.

A look at the popular product based videos from last week takes me first to Pepsi, Pepsi Stuff and Justin Timberlake at number 10. A fun video with Timberlake going through all sorts of perils, pushing a new promotion to get free stuff from Pepsi. This was a Super Bowl ad.
Promoting a contest from Nature Valley, here’s a video inviting you to submit your Where’s Yours video about a special place in nature and win a trip to the End’s of the World, which includes the Falklands. No redeeming features in the video, but the contest looks interesting.
I’m surprised the week before Super Bowl that there are not further ads on the list, but maybe that will be next week. Instead you have multiple copies of Super Smash Bros Gameplay
and lots of Obama stuff. But finally, a Macbook Air Parody sneaking in at No 51. Not really a product ad, but I laughed anyway.
