Ryanair and Blowjobs

Sometimes you don’t have to have a whole bunch of agencies making and seeding something funny to promote your brand, you just need to get your CEO to open his mouth at a Press Conference. This video of Michael O’Leary giving a press conference in Dusseldorf about their new long-haul flights has him promoting the service with some of the perks that the expensive business class will have to support the cheap economy.

Listen to the end, where Michael finds out there is no German for blowjob, or at least nothing the translator will tell him. (the closest I can find via an online translator is ‘einem blasen’) O’Leary has a reputation of being outspoken and on a continuous promotional journey - I’ve seen him on the news enough to know he sticks to a message and will give it come hell or high water. Anything for publicity is his motto - it’s even blazened across the Ryan site (Yes, I like that pun!) with this offer:

Ryanair’s Linguistic Department will offer one free return flight to a destination of your choice, for travel from October to December (including taxes and charges) to the first Ryanair passenger translating ‘Blowjobs’ into German language”.

But he’s obviously living in a different age - today, there’s lots of women business travellers, so I want to know what’s on offer ;)
