8 things you don’t know about me

I got tagged twice for this meme, from Maricel at Property Crossroads and Helen at Musings of a Mobile Marketer. I’ve already answered the 5 things meme at the other blog (must be inflation) so here are those repeated plus another 3.
- I’ve been knocked out twice in life. The first time was playing rugby at school and I hit the ground a little too hard. The second time was a little more serious, I came off a horse. Not too sure what happened but if the bruises were anything to go by I got well trodden on; the worst was fractured neck vertebrae which still give me trouble today.
- My first computer was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum. My sister and I played games and learnt how to code in Basic. Which was the last time I touched code for 15 years until I learnt Smalltalk as part of an OU course.
- I was quite sporty at school. My poor parents did a lot of ferrying around - I recall playing 5 different hockey games one weekend. I represented the county at hockey and also played basketball and tennis for the school.
- I’m a qualified rowing coach. I started off as a cox and then decided it was far better to be in a launch with motor engine.
- I collect teddy bears. Little cute ones
- I ended up in marketing and advertising sort-of by accident. My background has always been project management; I was pretty good at picking up technology so drifted into the IS function as a project manager for marketing websites nad my knowledge has grown since then
- I have little formal academic background to the work I do. My first degree was in Biology and it is still a favourite subject of mine, primarily in the area of evolution.
- The US is the fourth country I have lived in, having also resided in the Netherlands, Scotland and England. Next up, I fancy Australia.
Not going to tag anyone further for this, unless you want to do it.

It must be very enriching to have lived in several countries. Let me know if you’re planning to visit Sydney =)
