This is an interview I should have thought of! Leo Babauta who does Write to Done has an interview by Chief Editor Mary Jaksch of GoodLifeZen called Liz Strauss: The Secret of Being a Successful and Outstanding Writer.
Mary obviously knows Liz’s blog well, and refers to more than a few of her posts as she shapes questions for the successful blogger. Included in the advice Liz gives is:
- “Sit down with yourself and be real. Then share what you’re feeling.”
- A charming list of why she writes.
- “Blogging is a new genre that requires a new way of writing to open it up to the conversation. “
There’s more - it’s definitely worth a close read. Then take some time to think about what she’s said.
Write well and often,

Writing With Vision - for those who want to get a book written.

Hi Anne,
I’ve been receiving your newsletter for some time. Thank you very much for all the information you share with me. I have been thinking about becoming a writer for some time, but never find the way to get started. I read about blog writing, and found the blog/site “Write to Done” very interesting. I think I will start my writing by participating in blogs. Thanks for the insight.
Sonia, participating in blogs is a great way to start… then watch for blogs that need writers and pay… and you’re on your way.
Thanks, Anne!
Mary and I had that conversation one question at a time, and I think that made it even more powerful. We let each question inspire the next. Mary is a special lady and writer . . . a lot like you. :)
Ah, a mutual admiration society… one question at a time over time gets great results sometimes. ;)
