Increase Writing Creativity With a Baby? He’s Got To Be Crazy!

Here’s the headline at today’s CopyBlogger: Want to Boost Your Writing Productivity? Have a Baby! by Michael Stelzner.
“He’s got to be crazy,” I muttered looking back when I had babies. “I couldn’t write then! What’s he talking about?”
I don’t know if he intended the headline to be such a grabber for moms, but it worked in my case.
Turns out it isn’t exactly the baby that’s helping Michael’s creativity (btw, congrats!), but the change in schedule. There’s nothing like getting out of your comfort zone to kick your brain out of its rut. The post is certainly worth a read.
How do you spark your creativity?

Hey Anne!
Thanks for picking up that article.
Sometimes I think I AM crazy.
Mike
lol, Michael, my first pregnancy was twins!
As a mother of three, I totally agree. Watching how kids are so uninhibited is very freeing when you write. It’s finding the time that’s tough…
Hmmm, I don’t think sleep deprivation was all that good for my productivity either! But maybe his little angel is sleeping better than mine did. :)
I find that a change of environment helps me the most. I have to get out of the house and out somewhere even if it is the waiting room of the doctor’s office. Actually, I write really well there!
Lately, I’ve been riding the train quite a bit and find that if I can get a seat, I can get some writing done there as well. Now if only I can find time to type and edit!
All the best, Karen
Kelly, time was my biggest problem when my 3 were little… their nap time was great.
Karen, ah if we only had a train… well, we do, but… you know what I mean… do you have a laptop? Would that help?
All my 3 kids slept like crap as babies/toddlers. I had a live-out nanny which made all the difference :)
Actually, Roberta, I had some nanny’s too… a truly rational way to raise little kids imo
